Equipment I Use

I have used many different piece of equipment over the years to stay in shape. Although I have used gyms, I prefer to work out at home. Even when I ran my personal training business, I used equipment that was portable.

TRX

The TRX is a suspension system that is a great piece of equipment. If you could get nothing else, I would recommend the TRX as it is so versatile.

PowerBlocks

Power Blocks are a self contain set of dumbbells. The two sets I have cover all the need I need for fitness. The smaller set goes from 2.5 lbs to 20 lbs. The larger from 15 lbs to 90 lbs.

Elliptical Trainer

The elliptical trainer, hidden behind the bike in the photo, allows me to do some aerobic training. Since I damaged my right knee I have not been able to run so the elliptical trainer, bicycle and HIIT supply my aerobic training.

Inversion Table

The inversion table is a piece of fitness equipment that allows stretching of the legs and decompression of the spine.

Heavy Bag and Double Ended Bag

The heavy bag and the double ended bag is a great piece of fitness equipment. I can keep my combative skills up. Using the equipment also helps me maintain me cardio.

Steps, balance balls, Bosu ball, Slam ball, Kettle ball etc

There are a number of smaller pieces of equipment that I use. Some of them are shown above but not all. The slam ball (35 lbs and 50 lbs) and the 25 lb kettle ball are used in my HIIT routine quite often.

Road bike on trainer

I used to do a lot of road bike riding but I don’t anymore. My son in law actually had my bike for awhile. The red trainer was picked up from Amazon for a decent price. I also picked up a holder for my phone and downloaded an app called Cyclometer. I find I am able to use the bike and record my heart rate and cadence so that I can get a good aerobic workout from this equipment.
